Technology Description:

The Gaian Process is a process whereby ethanol is produced from wood and agricultural residues. Wood has been used for ethanol production, but the distillation stage required excessive energy to be economic. The Gaian Process eliminates the distillation and wastewater treatment stages and breaks this economic barrier. The capital costs of a plant using the Gaian Process are significantly reduced and this leads to a lower ethanol production cost. Wood and wood waste can now be turned into ethanol at an economic cost. Waste wood, hog fuel, trimmings and corn stover, hay or crop residue are ideal feedstocks for the Gaian Process.

Products and Services:

Diesohol is a clean burning fuel made by emulsifying diesel fuel with 10 – 15 % methanol or ethanol, which is designed for use in existing diesel engines. The resulting emulsion is stabilised by using an advanced, patented polymer technology that is entirely organic (Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen), and is fully combustible.

Diesohol is an oxygenated form of reformulated diesel fuel. The alcohol is an oxygen carrier. The benefit of this oxygenated diesel fuel is the significant reduction in smoke and particulate when a diesel engine is run on the emulsion. This has been demonstrated in heavy trucks, buses, agricultural equipment, material handling equipment, and light duty applications.
