250kW SOFC Demonstration Plant
Start Date: 2010-03-12
End Date: 2011-03-12
An agreement was signed by Ontario Power Generation, Natural Resources Canada, Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation and the U.S. DOE to design, assemble, commission and operate a 250 kW solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) combined heat and power demonstration plant.
All signing organizations contributed to the funding of this project.
Kinectrics’ responsibilities included equipment engineering and specifications, subsystem design (including heat export system, purge gas storage system, instrumentation and control system), hardware procurement, site preparation, grid connection, licensing and permitting. The SOFC unit assembly was completed in the fall of 2002 following resolution and troubleshooting, by the Kinectrics team, of numerous problems encountered during system integration.
