Description:
The Rio Lajas hydroelectric project involves the water retention of the Lajas, Guayabo and Torrito rivers for energy generation. The project comprises three intake structures conveying the water towards a reservoir with a capacity for daily water regulation, a 2,200-m long penstock, a powerhouse and a tailrace. The installed plant capacity is 10,65 MW under an average net head of 204 m. In 1997 Constructora SEH International S.A. mandated RSW INTERNATIONAL to provide detailed engineering for the civil works, ventilation and air conditioning systems of the powerhouse as well as technical assistance during construction.
