Description:
The Empowerment Through Energy Fund (ETEF) in South Africa is one of the Shell Foundation's most successful pilots and shows precisely how local banks can close the finance gap by enfranchising small-scale entrepreneurs that are so central to job creation and growth. Launched in December 2003, the fund is already generating financial and verifiable developmental returns.
